How Does Daxxify® Work?
Daxxify works by temporarily blocking the communication between nerves and muscles. The Daxxify® Treatment Process
Daxxify treatments are quick, typically taking less than 30 minutes. Before the injections, we may apply a topical numbing cream for your comfort. Using a fine needle, your AboutSkin provider will inject the Daxxify solution into the targeted muscles. The injections are placed strategically to achieve the most natural-looking results.
Daxxify® Recovery and Downtime
Daxxify requires little to no recovery and downtime. Most patients can return to their daily routines immediately, but for the best results, we recommend avoiding the following activities for a period of time after your Daxxify treatment:
- Lying down flat: Avoid lying down for the first four hours after your injections, as this can cause the Daxxify solution to migrate to unintended areas.
- Strenuous exercise: Vigorous physical activity can increase blood flow, potentially affecting the way Daxxify settles in the treated areas. We advise patients to take it easy for at least 24 hours after treatment.
- Rubbing or massaging the treated area: Try not to touch or apply pressure to the injection sites for the first 24 hours to prevent any unintended movement of the product.
- Heat exposure: Avoid hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms, as heat can increase the risk of swelling and affect the product’s effectiveness.
- Facial treatments or massages: Postpone any facials, chemical peels or massages for at least 48 hours to allow Daxxify to fully take effect.
Some Daxxify patients may experience mild side effects such as slight swelling, redness or tenderness at the injection sites. These typically resolve within a day but can be soothed with a cold compress if necessary. If any bruising occurs, it should fade over the next few days. Your AboutSkin Dermatologist may recommend avoiding certain medications or supplements (such as aspirin, ibuprofen or fish oil) that can increase bruising for a few days before and after your treatment.

Expected Results From Daxxify®
